Buying inputs wisely
How to avoid fake or wrong products and get value for money.
- Buy only from a registered dealer with a valid licence, and keep the bill or invoice.
- Check the pack seal, batch number, registration number, manufacture date and expiry date.
- Read the label to confirm the product suits apples and the stage you are treating.
- Compare price per unit of active ingredient, not just per pack.
- Buy what you will use this season to avoid storing chemicals for long.
- In Applefy, the Market tab shows the price per unit up front.
General guidance. Always read product labels and consult an agronomist for problems specific to your orchard.
