Diseases

Alternaria leaf blotch and mites

A summer leaf disease linked to high mite numbers and wet, hot weather.

Relevant stages: Fruit Development III, Fruit Development IV.

Leaf blotch causes brown spots and early leaf drop in summer.

  • Keep the mite population low. The guide links high mites to Alternaria leaf blotch.
  • Remove water shoots to reduce disease severity.
  • Avoid spraying under wet or hot conditions.
  • Fruit development IV: if leaf blotch or scab is present, use Zineb 68% + Hexaconazole 4%, 125 g per 100 L.
  • Collect fallen fruit and leaves as part of orchard sanitation.

General guidance. Always read product labels and consult an agronomist for problems specific to your orchard.
