Whitewashing tree trunks
A simple protection against sunburn and bark problems.
Relevant stages: Fruit Let, Fruit Development I.
The guide recommends white-washing tree trunks at fruit let and again at fruit development I to protect against sunburn.
Mix (from the guide)
For every 10 litres of water: 1 kg lime + 300 g copper sulphate + 250 g glue.
- Stir well and apply with a brush on trunks and main branches.
- Wear gloves and eye protection when handling lime and copper sulphate.
